Neville has been the main driving force behind the continuation of the renovation of the property and its surrounding grounds. Neville has worked to turn the stone beamed barn into the wonderful studio that it is today, with his vision and high standard to detail. Care has been made to ensure that the ambiance of the natural beauty of the grounds has not been lost and that guests feel they are in a relaxing and chilled environment that fits with the lifestyle of our retreat that is Haven on the Hill.
Art Studio
Before when it was being used as a sheltered parking space.Today with it’s existing walls repointed and and new walls added.
Mezzanine
Mezzanine floor ripped up and rebuilt. Below is where the cattle would have been housed in the past.And turned into a quiet space where guests can have refreshments after classes.
Flooring

Ceiling and Roof
Oak beams had to be cleaned up on the ceiling, varnished and furnished with antique chandeliers. ‘On the roof we had a team from Romania to re-roof the tiles in July 2016. They started work at 6am, when it was fairly cool but stopped at 2pm when it’s getting hotter around 38c. Most of the broken tiles were taken by a local man for hardcore for his driveway. The rest was re cycled as our own hardcore for the concrete areas. About 1/3 of the tiles were good enough to mix back in with the new ones. There were 60, 000 tiles used and the job took 3 weeks and cost 28,000€. This was our biggest layout of our capital.’ Wendy‘We replaced the big old heavy oak doors as they were rotten and broken. Parts are the doors have been recycled into the building . And the iron works have been saved too.’ Wendy
